More impetus for comics through a new line of grants for festivals
The objective of the call is to promote initiatives that focus on the dissemination, programming and sale of comics
Fundació Finestres sees comics as an autonomous and independent artistic discipline and aims to promote new talent and local creation. To this end, it is launching a series of initiatives, in collaboration with other local players, to help strengthen and improve the current situation of the comics sector and its professionals.
In September, a new line of grants for festivals opened, , with the aim of promoting initiatives focused on the dissemination, programming and sale of comics. Applications are open until October 15 and the grant offers up to €20,000 per edition. More information here.
Separately, within the framework of the CREC Chair, the Finestres Foundation has launched the second edition of the scholarship “EXP-Experimental Comic: Research and Creation”, which aims to promote research to explore hybridities between comics and other creative and professional fields. This year, the call closed on September 13.
