Fundació Ferrer supports ASSÍS Centre d’Acollida and the Santa Anna Field Hospital through volunteering

To Ferrer Foundations, volunteering forms an essential part of their way of contributing to society. Sharing time and effort with the organisations allows the organisation get to know their reality firsthand, strengthen the alliances what it builds throughout the year and take an active role in promoting social transformation.

In this spirit, on the 10th of July last, members of the Ferrer Foundations team participated in a volunteering day with ASSÍS Centre d’Acollida and the Santa Anna Campaign Hospital, two initiatives with which the organisation has maintained an alliance for years to boost and multiply their work.

The group that collaborated with ASSÍS Reception Centre will take part in the Preparation of charity bags to help tackle the current heatwave, as well as in sorting donations and in the breakfast service in the open dining room, who served more than 180 people. Part of the food distributed there comes from Rubió i Tudurí edible garden, located in the Torre de Santa Caterina (Pedralbes), the first community garden promoted by the Ferrer Green for Good Foundation.

On the other hand, the team that volunteered at Santa Anna Field Hospital he is going to prepare charity hampers and took part in the dining service, who served 167 people in a situation of vulnerability. The relationship with this organisation It dates back more than six years and is embodied, inter alia, in the weekly delivery of meals prepared in the Ferrer for Food social kitchen, initiative of the Fundació Ferrer Social Justice.
