Acció Palestina takes part in the departure of the Global Sumud Flotilla from Barcelona

The past 12th April, Palestine Action participated by providing support in the departure of the Global Sumud Flotilla from the Moll de la Fusta, Barcelona, an international initiative in defence of rights of the Palestinian people. The day, which combined social claim, culture, and collective action, It brought together organisations, civil society and social movements in a shared space for mobilisation and awareness-raising.

The event began with a Joan Dausà concert open to the public culminated in the reading of a collective statement before the symbolic departure of some forty boats, which would later head towards Gaza.

The flotilla is the largest civilian maritime mission in history in support of the Palestinian people: over 70 boats, more than 1,000 participants and an active network in 70 countries. The initiative has the support of organisations such as Open Arms and Greenpeace, which bring experience in humanitarian operations and strengthen the global dimension of this coordinated action. In support of this, the Fundació Ferrer Social Justice reaffirms its commitment to the global justice Hello Organised civil society in view of the violations of human rights.
