The Ferrer Green for Good Foundation activates spaces for public awareness and outreach on regenerative agriculture
The ‘Cultiva el canvi’ initiative has brought regenerative agriculture to children, families and visitors through informative and participatory activities held at L'Illa Diagonal.
The Fundació Ferrer Green for Good He/She has approached regenerative agriculture to the citizenry with ‘Grow change’, an awareness-raising initiative held on the 3rd and 4th of July at the L’Illa Diagonal shopping centre. Throughout the day, infants, families and visitors they have got to know each other the fundamental role that soil health plays in the preservation of biodiversity, the fight against climate change and the construction of a more sustainable food system.
The outreach space has also made it possible to discover how the Foundation applies the principles of regenerative agriculture in its six social urban allotments, demonstrating that it is possible regenerate ecosystems, foster biodiversity and generate a positive social impact also from the urban environment. Furthermore, participants have taken part in a seed bomb workshop inspired by Masanobu Fukuoka's technique, which has allowed them to experience the germination process practically and reflect on the importance of looking after nature.
With initiatives such as ‘Grow change’, and the Fundació Ferrer Green for Good Keep promoting environmental awareness and citizen participation as tools to drive a more regenerative model. Raise awareness, educate and create spaces for participation are key elements for moving towards greener, fairer and more inclusive cities.
