We award the Finestres Narrative Prizes and the Finestres Comic Prizes

The Finestres Awards, driven by the Finestres Foundation, reaffirm, once again, their commitment to literature and comics as spaces for creation, thought, and imagination, backing quality and support for authors.

During the ceremony, hosted by cultural journalist Laura Sangrà and inat which 200 professionals from the publishing, literary and journalistic sectors attended, the awards were presented Premis Finestres for Narrative and Premis Finestres for Comics 2025-2026:

— The Intruder, of’Irene Pujadas, I The fine art of creating monsters, of Silvana Vogt, were the two winning works of the Sixth edition dels Finestres Narrative Awards In Catalan and Spanish, respectively.

— Sebas Martín has been honoured with the Premiums for Comic Windows in Catalan, and Indo Casal and Niko Vives  they have won the Young Talent, in its 5th Edition.

— This year's Finestres Awards are adding two new Comic categories for titles published in 2025: the Comic Window Award for Best Work, which has taken Burning gums, of Natalia Velarde; and the Finestres Comic Award for Best CIJ Work (Children's and young people's)What has been going on Superpotato versus the nanomalice, of’Artur Laperla.

As Estefania Rico explained, Director of Socialised Wealth from the Ferrer Foundations, in the welcome to the event, “The mission of the Finestres Foundation is to promote reading and support literary culture and thought as avenues for creation, knowledge, and critical thinking.”.

In a context where one in four people in Catalonia lives at risk of poverty or social exclusion, according to the AROPE rate, “the cultural sector also suffers from a lack of public investment and struggles with a lot of precariousness… That's why initiatives like these awards are also important,” Rico concluded.

The representatives of the Finestres Awards and the presidents of the juries, Camila Enrich, Marina Espasa, Octavi Botana and Silvia Aymí, presented the awards to the winners of this latest edition, who it was lived with great emotion and in which the claim for the defence of culture and creation, in an increasingly hostile world, headed the majority of the speeches of the award winners.
